SSP Research Poster Competition

Young dental scientists and clinicians are invited to apply for the „SSP Research Poster Competition“ at the Annual Meeting of the Swiss Society of Periodontology. Candidates accepted to present a poster will be admitted to the meeting free of charge. A cash prize of up to CHF 2,000 will be awarded to the presenter of the best poster.

Application

To apply for participation, candidates should submit an abstract in English according to the following guidelines:

  • The text should be written in Helvetica or Arial on one single page A4 and provided as a PDF from a MS Word document.
  • The title should consist of a maximum of 10 words and typed in font size 14.
  • The abstract should be limited to a maximum of 250 words and typed in font size 12.
  • The text should be written in Helvetica or Arial.
  • The person willing to present the work at the meeting, usually the first author, should be identified with an asterisk.
  • The content should be structured into the following sections: Background, Material and Methods, Results, Conclusions.
  • The vote of the local ethic committee has to be stated in case of a clinical study.
  • The contact details of the presenting author must include the postal address, an e-mail address, and a telephone number.

Abstracts must be submitted to awards@parodontologie.ch before the 30th of June.

Candidates will be informed about acceptance by 31st of July, at the latest.

 

Poster size

  • The poster should be in the DIN A0 format, which measures 1189 mm in height and 841 mm in width.

 

Agenda

  • The poster must be displayed before 9 o’clock in the morning.
  • It is expected that the presenter will be available for questions during the breaks. The members of the jury will also evaluate the poster and your research project during this time.
